Emirates Transport’s Auto Inspection Centre revealed that it conducted 97,318 auto inspections during the first half of the current year at internal and external sites at various regions of the country. More than 10,000 customers from government and private entities, as well as individuals, benefited from these inspections.

Aamer Al Shahi, manager of the Auto Inspection Centre at Emirates Transport, stated that the Centre drove the business momentum to very promising levels, thanks to the exceptional strategy it adopted in expanding a wide array of qualitative and quantitative services, in addition to the professionalism of its administrative and technical task force in delivering services on sites. He also highlighted a significant improvement in the pace of work manifested in an annual increase in the number of inspections by 38% compared to the first half of 2020, when only 61,157 auto inspections were conducted.

Al Shahi added that the Centre provided the opportunity to train companies and individuals on a state-of-the-art programme that converts the services provided into digital ones with more than 1,000 companies benefiting from the electronic system.

In addition, the Centre was able to sign a number of new contracts with partners for contractual periods exceeding three years, namely with the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, as well as with the Integrated Transport Centre, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority and the Fujairah Police General Command.

The manager of the Auto Inspection Centre further noted that a number of improvements have been made to the services provided to the public recently, including the Centre’s initiative to reduce points of direct contact with customers at the technical inspection sites by implementing a digital system to book appointments, submit documents, obtain results and pay fees electronically. This effective solution contributed to facilitating access to services for customers as well as reducing the risks of Covid-19 virus spread.

It is worth recalling that the Centre provides auto inspection services throughout all the emirates using a mobile screening device, which allows companies and individuals to capitalize on the services provided within their corporate headquarters and within a short period of time instead of sending heavy vehicles to designated inspection sites.
