Emirates Transport (ET) participated in the Car Free Day initiative, organized by the Municipality of Dubai, by showcasing an electric school bus, which set to be the first of its type in the region, in the Exhibition accompanying the initiative.
Aaref Al Blooshi, manager of ET’s Marketing Department, said that the Corporation’s participation in the initiative reflects its keenness and commitment to its strategic sustainability objectives.
Al Blooshi explained that, through its platform at the exhibition, the Corporation showcased its achievements in the area of sustainability, the most important of which was an electric school bus, which set to be the first of its kind in the region once it enters full operation. Also on display was a vehicle modified to operate on natural gas, through the Etihad Centre for Converting Vehicles to Operate on Natural Gas, a subsidiary of ET.
Al Blooshi said that the Corporation’s participation in the exhibition was praised by visitors and participants because it reflected a keenness to promote environmental sustainability in the country and to provide added value to the consumer.
He added that Emirates Transport has launched a series of sustainable projects including converting vehicles to work with natural gas, dry car wash, strengthening the Corporation’s fleet with eco-friendly vehicles, and implementing plans for developing the sustainability system and its standards in its premises and facilities, as well as within its operations and administrative procedures.
