A joint delegation from Emirates Transport (ET) and the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) completed an inspection and coordination visit to several bus factories in China, in order to ensure that the new buses conform to the specifications and requirements in force in the UAE.
The factories were awarded the tender for the supply of new vehicles through local agents as part of the ET’s continuous efforts to modernize its fleet of school buses.
The visit covered meetings and field tours of school bus factories for three leading brands in the People’s Republic of China, namely Zhongtong, Higer, and Kinglong, in a number of cities and regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, and Suzhou.
The delegation was headed by Abdel Hamid Sba, Chief MRO Officer at Emirates Transport, who was accompanied by Khaled Al Mazmi, Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Services at ESE, as well as representatives of local agents including Al Naboodah Group, as the agent of the ZHONGTONG, and AG Auto, as the agent of the KINGLONG, and KHF Automotive as the agent of the Higer bus company.
Abdel Hamid Sba stated that the visit comes in the context of ET’s keenness to consolidate communication and relations with local and international suppliers, and to serves the company’s interests and objectives in maintaining its leading position in school transport services, by raising the level of quality of bus manufacturing and ensuring full compliance with its standards in safety and quality.
Khaled Al Mazmi said: “The Emirates Schools Establishment continues its efforts to improve school transport services in cooperation with its partners, and to search for ways to develop them in line with the aspirations of ESS and the parents”. Emirates Transport is constantly updating and replenishing its fleet of buses operating in the school transport sector, in order to ensure the optimal fulfilment of its contractual obligations with all parties. The company has a school bus fleet that numbers about 8,000 buses, serving nearly 600 public and private schools in the country, and transporting a quarter of a million male and female students in various educational stages on a daily basis.
