As part of its social responsibility commitments, and inspired by the Year of Zayed initiative, Emirates Transport (ET) launched its annual Ramadan programme for its employees.
The programme comprises a number of community and charitable initiatives, as well as events for employee to mark the holy month.
Hanan Saqer, executive director of Corporate Services at ET, said that the Corporation is keen to celebrate various religious, national, community and cultural events, as part of its social responsibility values.
Saqer added that the events will be held at the Corporation’s head office in Dubai, as well as at various branches and areas throughout the country, and they will include a series of religious lectures, cultural competitions, and social and charitable initiatives. 
There will also be a number of internal and external programmes and initiatives organised by the Corporation during the holy month which include sponsorships of community and charitable events, and religious awareness lectures for employees.
These events, Saqer stated, will be organised in cooperation with a number of bodies and institutions in the community, including Dar Al Ber Society and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai. 
The first of these programmes was already carried out Wednesday of this week, as ET employees distributed Ramadan food rations to a number of needy families, in cooperation with Dar Al Ber Society. Other initiatives include the distribution of iftar packages for motorists at sunset, providing full iftar meals for 200 people on Zayed Humanitarian Day and distributing Eid clothes for children.  
The executive director of Corporate Services added that, through these programmes, the Corporation aims to develop social communications and interaction between employees during the days of the month, in addition to strengthening their cultural and spiritual side through the planned events and activities.
There will also be a daily general knowledge competition for staff with cash prizes allocated to the winners who will be randomly chosen in a draw after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
