Abdullah bin Swaif ALghufli, executive director of the School Transport Division at Emirates Transport (ET), honoured drivers Haq Nawaz and Shah Jalandhar, both of Pakistani nationality, who returned valuable lost items to the relevant authorities.
The two drivers who work as school transport drivers at ET’s branch in Sharjah were recognised for their honesty and initiative to hand over money and bank cards they found on school property while performing their duties.
ALghufli praised the drivers’ honesty and good behaviour by quickly informing the school and the security authorities in Sharjah of the lost valuables they found separately in different places.
He pointed out that such positive attitudes reflect the high level of professionalism and ethics of Emirates Transport employees, and enhances the confidence and satisfaction of clients and parents with the services provided by the Corporation.
The executive director of the School Transport Division added that ET had previously honoured a number of its employees who had exhibited similar trustworthy actions, including a mechanic who found and reported missing items valued at one million dirhams in a client’s vehicle which came in for repairs.
In the latest incident, one of the two honoured drivers, Haq Nawaz, found a sizable sum of cash on the campuses of the American School of Creative Science, which benefits from the transport services provided by Emirates Transport. Nawaz immediately handed over the money to the school coordinator, and the cash was traced to one of the parents.
The second driver, Shah Jalandhar, also found a wallet containing money and bank cards in a public place and handed it over to the police who in turn handed the returned valuables to the owner.
