Emirates Transport (ET) has inaugurated a training course in occupational safety and health for a group of its employees, in cooperation with RRC Middle East International Company, a training and consultancy company.
The course is entitled NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, which meets the requirements of the UK-based National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
The course is being held at Roda Al Bustan Hotel, in Dubai, and will continue for a duration of two weeks with the participation of 17 ET employees from various departments and functional levels related to the application of occupational safety and health standards in the activities and services of the Corporation.
Khalid Shukur, manager of the Environment and Occupational Health & Safety Department (HSE) at ET, said that the NEBOSH course consists of three parts; the first part deals with the components of the occupational health and safety management system such as the principles of health and safety, planning, implementation, evaluation, performance, while the second part deals with “Workplace hazards control” such as transport hazards, mechanical hazards, work equipment hazards, as well as electrical and fire hazards, whilst the third part requires trainees to prepare a practical project on risk control in the work environment.
