Emirates Transport (ET), in cooperation with the Directorate General Of Civil Defence Dubai, implemented a successful fire evacuation drill at its head office, in Um Rammol, Dubai.
The drill came in line with the Corporation’s keenness to raise readiness to respond to emergencies and to strengthen the health and safety systems for employees, customers and the general public.
Khalid Shukur, manager of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety at ET, reaffirmed the Corporation’s keenness to implement evacuation drills at its various locations as it contributes in measuring the speed of response and readiness in dealing with emergency situations, as well as evaluating the awareness of ET’s employees and customers in dealing with similar incidents.
Shukur pointed out that the evacuation drill is in the best interest of the Corporation, the public and the civil defence department, as it provide an opportunity to identify strengths and weaknesses points and to ensure the availability of all the means and equipment necessary to cope with emergencies, such as assembly points, signboards, fire alarms, extinguishers and first aid boxes, and ensures everyone concerned respond properly during disasters or fires to avoid human or material losses.
The manager of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the management team of the Civil Defence in Dubai on their efforts to maintain the security and safety of individuals in the State and on the success of the evacuation drill.
