Emirates Transport consolidates best global practices to build a healthy and safe environment

Emirates Transport organized a number of awareness programmes aimed at promoting occupational health and safety among employees and members of the community to ensure their security and safety and encourage them to adopt positive behaviours in their daily lives.
The activities are part of ET’s annual Month of Occupational Health and Safety campaign which will continue throughout March under the slogan “Let Safety Lead You”.
Hanan Saqer, executive director of Corporate Services Division at ET, said that safety is a key pillar of Emirates Transport’s strategy and objectives, stressing that the Corporation is constantly looking to instil the concept of safety as a daily routine for its employee.
The activities of the campaign, which started in early March, included workshops, awareness lectures and medical examinations, in cooperation with a number of governmental and private bodies and institutions.
A number of events have already been organised at ET’s head office in Dubai, Emirates Transport Driving Institute and the all ET branches across the country. Some of the events were open for members of the community, including school students and motorists, in order to spread the culture of traffic safety on the roads.
The events included the issuance of mock driving licenses for students to encourage their participation and engagement, as well as medical tests for employees including blood pressure tests, blood glucose testing and eye examinations.
Employees also participated in a blood donation drive and received training for firefighting skills, first aid and they also learnt about the laws and regulations related to traffic regulations, especially those related to the stop sign on school buses.
