Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, general manager of Emirates Transport (ET) expressed his warmest congratulations to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on August 28 of each year and is held this year under the theme “Woman is a Symbol of Tolerance”.
During a meeting with a group of female employees at ET’s head office in Dubai Al Jarman said that the pivotal role of Emirati women has emerged since the founding of the Union by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
The general manager of Emirates Transport pointed out that Emirati women have become a key partner in the process of development and effective decision-making for the benefit of the nation and its citizens. This is reflected in the decision of our wise government to raise the percentage of women representation in the Federal National Council to 50%, which will come into effect in the next legislative term of the Council.
Hanan Saqer, executive director of Corporate Services at ET, said that Emirati women have proved their worth, competence and excellence by continuing to achieve many achievements at the local and global levels in various fields of life as a leading engineer, promising doctor, successful teacher and virtuous educator.
Saqer also praised the important and essential role played by the daughter of the UAE in achieving the overall development of her country through the various senior positions that she holds.
