Emirates Transport (ET) received a second place award in the category of “Environmental Conservation” at the 10th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST).
The federal transport corporation continued its fine tradition of wining an award, in at least one category, in every edition since the start of the prestigious award ten years ago.
The Award is one of the key initiatives developed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to leverage public and private sectors to contribute to alleviating the traffic congestion, and conserving the environment.
The honouring ceremony was attended by HH Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and president of the National Olympic Committee, who presented Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, ET general manager, with the award.
Al Jarman expressed the ET’s delight and pride in wining another DAST award for the tenth consecutive year.
He said: “This win reflects the outstanding level attained by ET in the fields of transport and sustainable services, and its strong interest in the provision of safe and sustainable transport services for all segments of the community, and the further development of these services to keep pace with modern technological trends that can contribute to improving the safety levels in the transport sector”.
The latest DAST win for ET comes for its ambitious hybrid fuel system project in which the Corporation developed innovative technics to modify diesel buses to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
