The Emirates Transport Board of Directors is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Education. The Board is considered the supreme authority of the company; it determines the strategic and implementation plans and general policies of the company, oversees its financial affairs and approves the proposed budget for the company and its final account. 

The Board also develops procedures to ensure the company’s adherence to the UAE’s law and regulations, monitors the implementation of governance systems and controls, evaluates and monitors the performance of executive management against objectives and the budget, and oversees the implementation of the financial, administrative and human resources regulations.

The Board also has the authority to approve draft contracts and agreements that establish entitlements for the company or enters it into obligations or financial facilities with banks to finance the company’s operational and capital requirements. The Board also appoints company representatives in the Boards of Directors of subsidiary entities and supervises the work of those units.
