Emirates Transport (ET) has announced the launch of 30 initiatives during the “Year of Zayed “, in line with the initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to celebrate the life of the late founder Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, general manager of Emirates Transport, said: “We are proud to follow on the path of Zayed. We, at Emirates Transport, as part of a cohesive national fabric, are fully committed to fulfilling our responsibilities towards society and make our contribution to the community and to humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives. This is the embodiment of the philanthropist values of Zayed, which remain the solid foundation on which the UAE was built”.
Al Jarman pointed out that the initiatives of Emirates Transport in the year of Zayed are based on 6 main themes and include 30 different community initiatives which also reflect the Corporation’s social responsibility commitments towards the society.
Hanan Saqer, executive director of Corporate Services Division at ET, that the themes of the 30 initiatives are: ‘For Your Sake’, organisational volunteerism, educational and awareness campaigns, community initiatives, national and international events and Ramadan initiatives, all of which will be implemented internally and externally.
It is worth mentioning that the Corporation started this year with the publication of advertisements – in celebration of the year of Zayed – on 100 vehicles from its fleet of buses, in different parts of the country. The adverts carried various images and quotations from Sheikh Zayed in order to contribute to this initiative and spread a noble message that will contribute to the establishment of national identity and promote the values of loyalty and belonging of citizens of the State and its residents.
